Predicting the occurrence of headache and back pain in young adults by biopsychological characteristics assessed at childhood or adolescence

Kroner–Herwig B, et al. – The physicians identified predictors of recurrent headache and back pain in young adults (aged 18–27 years) from data assessed in childhood or adolescence, i.e., 9 years before the final survey. They suggested that behind all selected variables, a biopsychological characteristic denoted as emotional negativity could be a common factor, particularly regarding self–reference. In recurrent pain, risk research was a field where much more multidisciplinary research was needed before progress could be expected.
