Predicting low-risk for sustained alcohol use after early liver transplant for acute alcoholic hepatitis: The SALT score
Hepatology Dec 23, 2018
Lee BP, et al. - Investigators analyzed consecutive American Consortium of Early Liver Transplantation for Alcoholic Hepatitis (ACCELERATE-AH) recipients between 2012-2017 to develop a predictive tool to identify cases pre-transplant with low-risk for sustained alcohol use post-transplant to notify selection of candidates for early liver transplant (LT) candidates. They observed the SALT (Sustained Alcohol use post-LT) score helpful in the determination of subjects with alcoholic hepatitis (AH) for early LT or to guide risk-based interventions post-LT.
