Predicting eventual development of lupus nephritis at the time of diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus
Seminars in Arthritis and Rheumatism Feb 28, 2018
Kwon OC, et al. - During this study, researchers examined the factors predictive of future lupus nephritis development when systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) was diagnosed. Results shed light on the correlation between young age, low C3, high anti-dsDNA titre and presence of anti-Sm antibody, at the diagnosis of SLE with a risk of future lupus nephritis. However, the greatest hazard was discovered with a low albumin-to-globulin ratio (AGR) value. This finding indicated that a greater proportion of immunoglobulin relative to total protein was linked to the development of nephritis.
