Predicting early recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma with texture analysis of preoperative MRI: A radiomics study
Clinical Radiology Dec 07, 2018
Hui TCH, et al. - A retrospective review was taken in account to investigate the feasibility of using texture analysis in preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to predict early recurrence (ER) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) post-curative surgery. The study was performed between January 1, 2007, and December 31, 2015, on patients who had hepatectomy. Fifty patients (43 male, mean age 67 years) were involved and divided into two groups viz., ER (n=20) and LNR (n=30). Texture analysis was done on them. It was observed that preoperative MRI had the potential to prognosticate ER of HCC with up to 84% efficiency if a suitable, single texture analysis parameter was to be used.
