Predicting clinical outcome after surgical treatment in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome
The Journal of Hand Surgery Jun 28, 2018
Jansen MC, et al. - Researchers identified the predictors for symptom relief after carpal tunnel release (CTR) and determined their contribution to symptom relief at 6 months after surgery. The most important factor in estimating symptom relief after surgical treatment was the clinical severity of carpal tunnel syndrome at intake. Moreover, they noted a contribution of this study to a more precise understanding of the capabilities of CTR in relieving symptoms for different subgroups of patients. Findings suggested the use of the results of this study to manage patient expectation on symptom relief from CTR.
