Predicting acute kidney injury following transcatheter aortic valve replacement
Clinical and Investigative Medicine Dec 24, 2017
Marbach JA, et al. - Researchers here tested the hypothesis that the change in glomerular filtration rate (ΔGFR) in response to contrast administered during pre-transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) coronary angiography is predictive of ΔGFR post-TAVR. In this work, a previous renal response to contrast administered during coronary angiogram seemed not predictive of their response post-TAVR. Rather, baseline renal function and contrast volume administered (as demonstrated previously) were two of the most important predictors of post-TAVR acute kidney injury.
