Wang Y, et al. - Researchers performed this prospective study to examine the impact of pre-surgery pain beliefs on acute and chronic post-surgical pain. Observations revealed the predictability of pre-surgery self-efficacy beliefs and surgery fear beliefs, respectively, for the intensities of acute and chronic post-operative pain independent of all other significant predictors.
