Researchers conducted a multi-center retrospective cohort review of pre-participation cardiovascular screening data of 329 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I female athletes. The significant variations in various parameters based on the classification of sport and race were observed among one of the largest cohorts of collegiate female athlete pre-participation cardiac screening data to date. These classifications should be recognized when interpreting cardiovascular screening in female collegiate athletes to improve screening and guide further study.
