Jenkins DA, et al. - Between 1997 and 2017, researchers estimated the data to evaluate the possible prognostic factors for delayed healing of common, non-traumatic skin ulcers faced by health care professionals ie, venous leg, diabetic foot, and pressure ulcers along with patient characteristics, features of ulcers, and effects from clinical investigations. They recorded ulcer characteristics as the most commonly observed potential prognostic factor for healing including the size of the ulcer area and ulcer duration at first assessment. They also calculated the prognostic value of the following patient characteristics including age (n=31), gender (n=30), diabetes (n=22), smoking status (n=15), and history of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) (n=13).
