Potential predictors for prognosis and postpartum recovery time of acute fatty liver of pregnancy
BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth Oct 10, 2020
Chen J, Huang ZB, Fan XG, et al. - Researchers retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 76 Acute fatty liver of pregnancy (AFLP) patients with the aim to determine potential predictors for prognosis and postpartum recovery time of AFLP. The postpartum recovery time analysis showed the shortest recovery time for AFLP patients with an age < 25, but with no significant difference. Significantly prolonged postpartum recovery time was observed for patients with liver failure (LF) compared with those without LF. Observations suggest potential predictive value of hepatic encephalopathy (HE) for prognosis of AFLP and potential predictive value of liver failure (LF) for postpartum recovery time.
