Posttraumatic endophthalmitis: An 18-year case series

Li X, et al. - This trial was conducted to gauge the demographics, characteristics, management, and visual outcomes of eyes diagnosed with endophthalmitis post the open globe injury. Researchers found that intraocular foreign body and delayed presentation were significantly more common with concurrent endophthalmitis. A wound leak was found in 29% of the eyes that presented with endophthalmitis after open globe repair. In 40% of cases, best-corrected visual acuity of ≥20/200 was attained.
