Postoperative sinonasal morbidity in sellar reconstruction: Mucosal autograft versus acellular dermal allograft

Roxbury CR, et al. - The rates of persistent postoperative crusting (PPC) and rhinosinusitis underwent a comparative scrutiny, in patients undergoing sellar reconstruction with mucosal autografting and acellular dermal allografting (ADA). The findings disclosed that sinonasal morbidity was not an uncommon occurrence after sellar reconstruction. An increased risk of postoperative crusting could be detected in patients undergoing sellar reconstruction with ADA than with those undergoing reconstruction with mucosa.
