Postoperative outcomes following trabeculectomy and nonpenetrating surgical procedures: A 5-year longitudinal study
Clinical Ophthalmology Jun 02, 2018
Jiang L, et al. - Authors evaluated and compared the long-term postoperative outcomes of trabeculectomy (TE), phacotrabeculectomy (PTE), and viscocanalostomy (VC). They also correlated postoperative intraocular pressure (IOP) with visual outcome. Results demonstrated that good postoperative IOP control was significantly associated with optical outcome. For sustained lowering of IOP, TE remained the more effective surgical intervention. Experts noted the transient and self-limiting nature of most complications.
