Postoperative complications following primary penile inversion vaginoplasty among 330 male-to-female transgender patients
The Journal of Urology Oct 17, 2017
Gaither TW, et al. - As a part of this study, the postoperative complications after penile inversion vaginoplasty were elucidated. An analysis was carried out of the age, BMI, and years on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) as risk factors for complications. The findings brought to light the fact that penile inversion vaginoplasty was a considerably safe procedure. The occurrence of maximum complications, as a result, of this surgery took place within the first four months after surgery. There was no connection between age, BMI, and HRT with complications. Hence, this study recommended against dictating the timing of surgery on the basis of these factors.
