Posterior cruciate ligament tibial insertion avulsion, management by open reduction and internal fixation using plate and screws through a direct posterior approach
Injury Oct 07, 2020
Khalifa AA, Elsherif ME, Elsherif E, et al. - In this research, the clinical and radiological outcomes after open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) of posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) tibial insertion avulsion through the modified direct posterior approach using a small set plate and screws were examined. Researchers distinguished 31 patients with isolated PCL tibial insertion bony avulsion between January 2017 to September 2019. The data revealed that applying small set plates and screws for ORIF of PCL tibial avulsion fractures through a direct posterior procedure exhibited good outcomes in terms of surgical exposure, safety, radiological and clinical outcomes.
