Posterior chamber phakic intraocular lens for correction of presbyopia in high myopic patients
Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery Sep 01, 2019
Pavel S, et al. - In this prospective single cohort study, researchers gave an initial experience of novel phakic presbyopic intraocular lens in the correction of high myopia and presbyopia. Seventeen presbyopic eyes with high myopia have been implanted with presbyopic posterior chamber phakic intraocular lens (EyeolUK, United Kingdom). Investigators found that UDVA improved significantly from 1.25 logMAR to 0.11 logMAR. After 2 years, mean endothelium cell density was reduced from 2,552 cells/mm2 to 2,299 cells/mm2. In the initial case series of patients, this novel pIOL provided good visual results in near and far distances. All patients have been subjectively satisfied with the results.
