Oral Oncology Aug 31, 2017
Patel SA, et al. – Here the specialists illustrated the post– operative management in patients with an unknown primary squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (HNSCC) treated with trans–oral robotic surgery (TORS). They explained that surgical management of an unknown primary with TORS could lead to deintensification of adjuvant therapy including avoidance of chemotherapy and reduction in radiation therapy (RT) doses and volume. No increase in short term treatment failures was reported. In addition, they suggested adherence to NCCN guideline therapy post–TORS to avoid treatment–associated variability.
