Positron emission tomography as an imaging biomarker in a prospective, longitudinal cohort of patients with large vessel vasculitis
Arthritis & Rheumatism Nov 22, 2017
Grayson PC, et al. - This study was designed to determine the clinical utility of 18F-flurodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET) in a prospective cohort of patients with large-vessel vasculitis (LVV) and disease comparators. According to findings, FDG-PET served as a tool to extract information regarding vascular inflammation that was complimentary to, and unique from, clinical assessment in LVV. Notably, during clinical remission, FDG-PET scan activity was found to be related to future clinical relapse.
