Population risk factors for nulliparous, term, singleton, vertex caesarean birth: A national cross‐sectional study

Andrikopoulou M, Wen T, Sheen JJ, et al. - Via this cross‐sectional study of nulliparous, term, singleton, vertex (NTSV) births in 2016–18 US natality data, researchers sought to describe medical, obstetric and demographic risk factors linked with NTSV cesarean birth. Among a total of 11,622,400 deliveries, 3,764,707 fulfilled NTSV criteria; cesarean section was observed at the rate of 25.9% among NTSV births. BMI, maternal age and medical conditions were identified to be important risk factors for cesarean delivery among NTSV births.
