BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nov 11, 2020

Tang Y, Zhang J, Dai F, et al. - Researchers conducted a prospective cohort study of women with viable singleton pregnancies confirmed by ultrasonography at less than 14 weeks of amenorrhea at first visit, with the aim to determine the relationship between sleep disturbances and blood pressure as well as uterine artery Doppler during pregnancy in women with no preexisting hypertension. Among 926 recruited women, progressive worsening of sleep was reported as pregnancy advanced. Observations revealed significant correlation of shorter sleep duration and poorer sleep efficiency with higher blood pressure and uterine artery pulsatility index during pregnancy.
