Pooled analysis of multiple crossover trials to optimize individual therapy response to renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system intervention
Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology Nov 11, 2017
Petrykiv SI, et al. - Researchers investigated whether uptitration of the drug dose, change in the mode of intervention (with drugs from similar or different classes), or lowering dietary sodium intake can overcome therapy resistance to renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system inhibitors (RAASi) in the treatment of CKD. For this purpose, they meta-analyzed individual responses to different modes of interventions and found that a poor response to higher doses, other types of RAASi or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), or a reduction in dietary salt intake were obvious in patients who exhibited a poor response to one dose or type of RAASi.
