Polyunsaturated fatty acids in plasma at 8 years and subsequent allergic disease
The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology Dec 08, 2017
Magnusson J, et al. - This study was undertaken to determine the links between n-3 and n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) at age 8 years and asthma, rhinitis, and aeroallergen sensitization at age 16 years. Findings showed that higher proportions of certain very long-chain n-3 and very long-chain n-6 PUFAs in plasma phospholipids at age 8 years were related to an attenuated risk of allergic disease at age 16 years.
