POLR1D promotes colorectal cancer progression and predicts poor prognosis of patients

Molecular Carcinogenesis Jan 25, 2019

Wang M, et al. - Researchers examined the role and underlying mechanism of RNA polymerase I subunit D (POLR1D) in the progress of colorectal cancer (CRC). They noticed POLR1D, significantly up-regulated in CRC via data mining of oncomine database. The immunohistochemistry staining of a tissue microarray revealed that the expression level of POLR1D was positively associated with tumor size and poor survival in CRC. In the flow cytometry assays, they found POLR1D fostered cell cycle progression at G1-S transition and inhibition of cell apoptosis. They recommended POLR1D as a potential therapeutic target and risk factor for the prognostication of CRC consequences.
