Point-of-care ultrasound in the evaluation of COVID-19
The Journal of Emergency Medicine Jul 28, 2020
Abrams ER, Rose G, Fields JM, et al. - This study was intended to assess point-of-care ultrasound in the evaluation of COVID-19. Researchers seek to serve emergency physicians with a guide to sonographic findings in COVID-19 and an algorithm by which point-of-care lung ultrasound may help emergency physicians caring for these patients during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The study findings revealed that point-of-care ultrasound serves numerous advantages to emergency providers caring for patients with COVID-19, including reducing resource utilization, assisting in diagnosis, guiding management of the critically ill individual, and aiding in rapid triage of patients under evaluations for COVID-19.
