Petigara T, et al. - Pneumococcal vaccine coverage was examined in adults aged 19–64 years newly diagnosed with diabetes, chronic heart, lung, or liver disease. Findings showed that vaccine coverage continued to be well below Healthy People 2020 targets. Also, it was found that a substantial number of adults with chronic conditions remained unvaccinated and at risk for pneumococcal disease.
