Plexus-specific retinal capillary avascular area in exudative age-related macular degeneration with projection-resolved OCT angiography
British Journal of Ophthalmology Jan 06, 2021
Gao L, Wang J, You Q, et al. - In this prospective cross-sectional single centre study, researchers sought to identify the plexus-specific retinal capillary avascular area in exudative age-related macular degeneration (EAMD) with projection-resolved optical coherence tomography angiography (PR-OCTA). They included 19 eyes with EAMD and 19 age-matched healthy control eyes. No significant difference was found between the EAMD and control eyes in terms of age, sex, axial length and mean ocular perfusion pressure. PR-OCTA showed that EAMD is correlated with focal avascular area in all the three retinal vascular plexuses.
