Platelet to lymphocyte ratio is associated with the current activity of ANCA-associated vasculitis at diagnosis: A retrospective monocentric study
Rheumatology International Aug 11, 2018
Lee SW, et al. - Researchers investigated the association of platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR) with the severity of ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV) via retrospectively reviewing the medical records of 163 patients with AAV. They collected clinical, laboratory and radiological data and calculated Birmingham vasculitis activity score (BVAS). Compared to patients without severe AAV, those with severe AAV showed higher rate of ANCA positivity and higher blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine (Cr), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP). These patients also showed significantly increased median PLR compared to those without.
