Platelet poor plasma gel vs platelet rich plasma for infraorbital rejuvenation: A clinical and dermoscopic comparative study
Dermatologic Therapy Sep 03, 2020
Neinaa YM, hodeib AA, Morquos MM, et al. - In this investigation involving 68 females presented with dark circles and/or tear trough deformity, researchers sought to compare the effectiveness of platelet‐poor plasma (PPP) gel vs platelet‐rich plasma (PRP) in infraorbital rejuvenation. Study participants were treated by PPP gel injection in the right infraorbital region (Group A) and PRP injection in the left infraorbital region (Group B). According to results, both groups demonstrated significant clinical improvements proved by a significant reduction of the degree of hyperpigmentation and tear trough rating scale. Findings suggested that PPP gel as well as PRP were clinically effective procedures for aesthetic improvement of the infraorbital region. PPP gel also appears to be significantly more effective than PRP as a therapeutic modality.
