Platelet Indices as a marker for early prediction of erectile dysfunction in diabetic patients
Andrologia Oct 12, 2018
El Taieb MA, et al. – Given that erectile dysfunction (ED) is one of the most important concerns among diabetic patients, investigators measured platelet indices in these patients with ED to assess the potential correlation between them, especially with respect to vasculogenic-type ED. They found that platelet indices were high in diabetic men with ED, especially those with vasculogenic aetiology. As they can predict ED in diabetic men early and are considered relatively cheap, the authors indicated that platelet indices may be a useful biomarker for early diagnosis vasculogenic ED in this patient population.
