Platelet-albumin-bilirubin grade: Risk stratification of liver failure, prognosis after resection for hepatocellular carcinoma
Digestive and Liver Diseases May 05, 2019
Lu LH, et al. - In predicting post-hepatectomy liver failure (PHLF) grade B/C and long-term survival in a large cohort of Child-Pugh (C-P) grade A hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients, researchers evaluated the value of the platelet-albumin-bilirubin (PALBI) grade. There were 2,038 C-P grade A HCC patients enrolled from December 2004 to December 2013 after resection. According to findings, PALBI grade provides a simple, objective and discriminatory method for PHLF grade B/C and overall survival (OS) risk stratification after resection in patients with C-P grade A HCC. Multivariate analyses revealed that one of the independent and significant prognostic factors of PHLF grade B/C and OS was PALBI grade.
