Plasma lipoprotein(a) concentration is associated with the coronary severity but not with events in stable coronary artery disease patients: A Chinese cohort study
Heart, Lung, and Circulation Jun 15, 2018
Zhou BY, et al. - In this Chinese cohort study on angiography-proven stable coronary artery disease (CAD), researchers assessed the associations of lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)) to coronary severity (measured by the Gensini Score (GS) system) and events. Based on the median GS, a high GS group and a low GS group was formed, followed by assessment of the associations of continuous Lp(a), Lp(a) ≥ 300 mg/L, and tertiles of Lp(a) with GS and events, respectively. Findings demonstrated a significant association of Lp(a) with coronary severity, but no such link with cardiovascular events was observed. These findings were like what been reported in several other studies.
