Plasma C-type lectin-like receptor 2 as a predictor of death and vascular events in patients with acute ischemic stroke
European Journal of Neurology Jun 21, 2019
Wu X, et al. - Among 352 patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS), researchers studied the prognostic value of C-type lectin-like receptor 2 (CLEC-2) for mortality and vascular event recurrence. Forty-six patients died or experienced combined end-points over 1 year of follow-up. Data revealed that the optimal cut-off point of plasma CLEC-2 (pCLEC-2) for forcasting death was 184.38 pg/ml. Findings suggested link of higher pCLEC-2 levels at admission with a greater risk of death and combined events of death and vascular diseases (recurrent stroke, myocardial infarction, hospitalized and treated angina, hospitalized and treated peripheral arterial disease) in patients with AIS; pCLEC-2 may be an important prognosticator for AIS.
