Klinger R, et al. - Researchers performed a randomized clinical trial to test the experimental placebo effect in a group of chronic pain patients. Findings suggested that pain perception and pain behaviors were highly affected by the instructions and the learning experience the patients gained during the experiment. Thus it may be clinically useful to explicitly integrate placebo analgesia responses into pain management.
