Pilot study of external beam radiotherapy for recurrent unremitting tracheal stenosis
Annals of Otology, Rhinology & Laryngology Mar 04, 2021
Vincent AG, et al. - Researchers conducted a retrospective review to assess low-dose postoperative external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) as a novel therapy for patients with recurrent tracheal stenosis refractory to endoscopic therapies. The sample consisted of patients with recurrent tracheal stenosis who underwent EBRT in addition to endoscopic dilation. Six patients met the study's inclusion criteria. The study population's cause of stenosis was diverse. Low-dose postoperative EBRT, a novel therapy for patients with recurrent tracheal stenosis refractory to endoscopic therapies, is shown to reduce the frequency of endoscopic dilations in this study.
