Pilot data on the association between social jetlag and obesity-related characteristics in Dutch adolescents over 1 year
Sleep Medicine Apr 26, 2018
de Zwart BJ, et al. - Researchers investigated the link between social jetlag and obesity-related characteristics in Dutch adolescents over 1 year among those born between the years 1990 and 1993. Anthropometric measurements, body composition, physical activity, hours of television use, and self-reported sleep duration were assessed. Social jetlag was highly prevalent in adolescents and was associated with a lower body mass index (BMI) at baseline. Nonetheless, no correlation was illustrated between social jetlag and changes in obesity-related characteristics over time in the study cohort.
