Respiratory Research Apr 01, 2018
van Buul AR, et al. - Given that symptoms at the start of the day might influence physical activity during the rest of the day in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), researchers assessed physical activity during the course of the day in patients with low and high morning symptom scores in this cross-sectional observational study including patients with moderate to very severe COPD. Compared with patients with low morning symptom scores, those with high morning symptom scores took significantly fewer steps in the morning and afternoon. In addition, no significant differences were found during the evening and night.
