Physical activity and associations with clinical outcome measures in adults with cystic fibrosis: A systematic review
Journal of Cystic Fibrosis Mar 30, 2019
Shelley J, et al. - In this review, researchers assessed physical activity (PA) levels in adults with cystic fibrosis (CF), and compared PA to global recommendations and non-CF peers. They followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses guidelines for the review process. They evaluated quality, obtained data, and performed a narrative synthesis to report results. Although adults with CF were insufficiently active to achieve PA recommendations, PA in adults with CF was found to be largely comparable to non-CF peers. Variability was noted in the evaluation tools used and outcomes reported, many of which did not offer enough data to evaluate relevant components of PA.
