Nikolaou V, et al. - Authors evaluated the effectiveness and safety of phototherapy as a first-line treatment in patients with early-stage mycosis fungoides. Better responses and longer relapse-free intervals were seen after PUVA both in patch- and plaque-stage disease. For patients with recent disease presentation, a valid therapeutic alternative could be UVB-NB. Final relapse rates were not changes by the maintenance treatment, but led to prolonged time to relapse vs to no-maintenance treated cases.
