Gertler R, et al. - Authors evaluated the impact of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) on cefuroxime (CXM) pharmacokinetics in children less than 1 year of age. For prophylaxis, the routine dosing regimen provided was sufficient, but a higher percentage of ƒT > MIC could be provided by continuous dosing. Systemic clearance; central volume of distribution; intercompartmental clearance; and peripheral volume were the pharmacokinetic parameters.
