Persistence and compliance with osteoporosis therapies among postmenopausal women in the UK Clinical Practice Research Datalink
Osteoporosis International Nov 29, 2019
Morley J, Moayyeri A, Ali L, et al. - Data were collected from the Clinical Practice Research Datalink for all women aged 50 years and over or women with early menopause, who received at least one prescription in primary care for any licensed osteoporosis therapy between January 1, 2010, and December 31, 2015, in order to determine endurance and acquiescence with osteoporosis therapies in a large sample of postmenopausal women in the UK. The All Patients cohort involved 72,256 females. Only about one in three people who received osteoporosis therapy proceeded to be on treatment following 2 years. Thus, there is a requirement to enhance persistence with osteoporosis therapy, particularly for a high-risk population.
