Thomaidou E, et al. - The physicians performed this pilot study to examine the potential neuroprotective action of erythromycin, a well-known antibiotic agent, regarding the postoperative cognitive decline in patients undergoing cardiac surgery. Following coronary artery bypass grafting surgery, erythromycin administration attenuated cerebral damage and postoperative cognitive decline.
