Zhao BC, et al. – This meta–analysis aimed to assess whether perioperative statins reduce the risk of acute kidney injury (AKI) after cardiac surgery. Perioperative statin treatment did not reduce the risk of AKI among patients undergoing cardiac surgery. The initiation of statin therapy was not recommended for the prevention of AKI following cardiac surgery.
