Perioperative outcomes and long-term quality of life after total pancreatectomy
British Journal of Surgery Jul 13, 2019
Pulvirenti A, et al. - Researchers sought for the risk factors associated with perioperative and long-term outcomes among patients undergoing total pancreatectomy. They performed a retrospective analysis of data of 329 consecutive patients from two high-volume centers. Outcomes support that with acceptable morbidity and mortality rates, total pancreatectomy can be performed. A higher risk of postoperative complications was evident among older patients but with a better quality of life than younger patients.
