Perioperative chemotherapy vs surgery alone for resectable colorectal liver metastases: An international multicentre propensity score matched analysis on long-term outcomes according to established prognostic risk scores
HPB May 28, 2021
Di Martino M, Primavesi F, Syn N, et al. - Since uncertainty remains about the role of perioperative chemotherapy (CTx) in resectable colorectal liver metastases (CRLM), particularly in cases with a low-risk of recurrence, researchers explored this topic by performing this multicentre retrospective study of patients with CRLM receiving liver resection between 2010-2015. Participants were 967 patients with a median follow-up of 68 months. According to findings, an increase in overall survival was conferred by perioperative CTx in this population of patients with CRLM. Systemic treatment appeared beneficial for cases with a low-risk of recurrence.
