Perioperative and long-term outcome of en-bloc arterial resection in pancreatic surgery
HPB Dec 17, 2021
Wiltberger G, den Dulk M, Bednarsch J, et al. - The safety and oncological outcomes of pancreatic surgery with arterial en-bloc resection were investigated.
Performing a retrospective review of a prospectively maintained database, researchers included 40 consecutive patients (22 female; 18 male) undergoing pancreatic resection with arterial resection.
Outcomes suggest that arterial en-bloc resection can be conducted in highly selected patients with acceptable mortality and morbidity rates and beneficial oncological outcome.
