Holde GE, et al. - Researchers utilised Andersen's behavioural model for health services’ use as the theoretical framework to evaluate direct and indirect relationships between population characteristics, oral health behaviours and periodontitis and oral health impacts. Complex associations between population characteristics, oral health-related behaviours and oral health outcomes were suggested in the findings. The main predictors of periodontitis were socioeconomic factors and smoking. Nonetheless, the likelihood of periodontitis was not reduced by regular dental visiting habits.
