Perineal midline vertical incision vs inverted-U incision in the urethroplasty: Which is better?

Lin Y, et al. - In this review, the postoperative outcomes were compared between the perineal inverted-U and the vertical midline incision approaches of the for bulbar and posterior urethroplasty in patients with urethral stricture and clarified through gross anatomy. Compared to the perineal inverted-U incision, the perineal midline vertical incision was seen to be safer approach with fewer surgical site infection (SSI) and shorter hospital stay.
