Perinatal risk factors for asthma in children with allergic rhinitis and grass pollen sensitization
Allergy and Asthma Proceedings Apr 26, 2018
Yavuz ST, et al. - Researchers investigated if parental and perinatal risk factors, along with infantile feeding patterns, were related to asthma in children with grass pollen allergy and allergic rhinitis. In this retrospective analysis, prematurity, history of formula feeding, and parental asthma were found to be related to asthma in school-age children with grass pollen-induced allergic rhinitis, as noted in multivariate logistic regression analysis. In children with allergic rhinitis and who were sensitized to grass pollen, an earlier diagnosis of asthma and prompt initiation of therapeutic interventions may be implemented by close monitoring of patients with these risk factors.
