Perinatal mortality disparities between public care and private obstetrician-led care: A propensity score analysis
BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Sep 02, 2017
Adams N, et al. – A propensity score examination was performed to analyze whether disparities in stillbirth, neonatal and perinatal mortality rates between public and private hospitals were because of differences in population characteristics and/or clinical practices. It was concluded that the perinatal mortality occurred more often among public than private births and this disparity was not clarified by population differences. They noticed differences in clinical practices appeared to be partly responsible. The effect of differences in clinical practices on maternal and neonatal morbidity was not examined.
