Periarticular injection vs femoral nerve block for pain relief after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction: A randomized controlled trial

Kurosaka K, et al. - As analgesic strategies for dealing with post-anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction pain, periarticular injection (PI) and femoral nerve block (FNB) were compared in terms of efficacy and safety. Findings revealed that without elevating the complication rate, PI vs FNB afforded significantly better pain scores and lower opioid consumption in patients who underwent ACL reconstruction and received post-procedural analgesic management.
